The main hotel – Hotel Djurhuus
The adress of the hotel is, Yviri við Strond 19 in Tórshavn
The hotel has a total of 51 rooms, with 50 of them accommodating all the athletes, along with some coaches and officials. The remaining coaches and officials are staying at Hotel Hafnia in good company with the NWF board. The Hotel is just a short walk through the town center, past the port of Tórshavn.
The secondary hotel – Hotel Hafnia
The adress of the hotel is, Áarvegur 8 in Tórshavn
Hotel Hafnia which is located in the middle of Tórshavn central. The hote offers comfortable accommodation for the remaining coaches and officials, who are in good company with the NWF board. The hotel is located just 700 meters from Hotel Djurhuus, providing a convenient distance for those traveling between the two locations.
Transport
For arrivals and departures between October 17th and October 20th, we will provide transportation to and from the airport. The airport pickup schedule will be available after the final entry list is confirmed.

If, for any reason, you prefer not to use the official competition bus, there is a bus terminal 200 meters from both hotels. Public buses to Runavík cost €12, and you can find the timetable on the website (ssl.fo). Buses 400, 401, and 450 travel to Runavík. If you’re unsure about which bus to take, we recommend asking the hotel receptionist for assistance.
The public bus system in Tórshavn is free, easy to use, and accessible. You can view the timetable on their website (torshavn.fo). but please note that it’s in Faroese. However, locals are generally happy to assist with directions.
But, Google Maps offers the possibility to see which route you have to take with the public transport.
If you need a taxi, we recommend using the company listed on (taxi.fo) where you’ll find prices and an app for booking.
For car rentals, we suggest Carrent, available at (carrent.fo).
There will also be 2-3 minibuses in circulation, some of which are partially linked to the EWF seminar. These minibuses do not operate on a fixed schedule, but if there’s space available and you need transportation, you may be able to join the ride.
The competition site – Runavík
The competition will be held in the gymnastic and handball hall called Bylgjan. The hall was built in 2015, and is still in building, as an extension for a swimming pool is underway.

Remeber all times are in Faroese (GMT +1), which is one hour behind Danish/Swedish time.

Sauna & swimming
We have a public indoor swimming pool, and sauna as well. The swimming pool includes, a kids pool, a normal pool, a 25 meter swimming pool, a springboard pool and other facilities as well. It’s open from 06:15-20:00 (Meaning, it is possible to enter at 20:00, and leave at 21:00). It is free for all athletes, coaches and officials to use these facilities.

We aim to begin the banquet at 20:00, but please keep in mind that Olympic Weightlifting competitions can sometimes run longer than scheduled.
The banquet will be held at Heykavegur 1 and will feature a three-course menu:
- Starter: Steamed cod served with a crispy salad, dressing, pickled red onions, and balsamic glaze.
- Main Course: Slow-roasted culotte steak accompanied by petite potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a rich gravy made from the meat juices.
- Dessert: Rhubarb trifle.

Grocery’s Shops
Close to the hotels, we have two grocery stores. Both are called Mylnan and are located here (Jónas Broncksgøta 15), and the other here (Niels Finsensgøta 8). A little further away is a bigger supermarket called Miklagarður in a shoppingcenter called SMS. They are located here (á Trapputrøðni).
If you are looking to buy alcohol then you have to either go to a bar i Tórshavn Center, or you have to go to the liqour store, which is located at (Hoyvíksvegur 67).
